Collaborative Law
What is collaborative law and why should you choose it?
Collaborative law is a process of dispute resolution in which the clients
and the collaborative attorneys commit to resolve their issues without
going to court. It is primarily in use in the areas of family law,
separation and divorce. It enables divorcing and separating couples
to resolve their issues in a calm, thoughtful and intelligent manner, and
to design settlements that make sense in their individual circumstances,
as opposed to having a court impose a resolution. Through the process of
collaborative law, we help people to regain control over their lives and
empower them to make the best legal and practical decisions for themselves
and their family. A successful collaborative process results in a comprehensive settlement agreement that incorporates custody, a parenting plan, child support, maintenance, equitable distribution, insurance coverage, and all other issues involving the family.
